Kroc Center Facility Guidelines
In order to facilitate positive life experiences while visiting the Kroc Center, mutual respect between members, guests, and staff is required at all times. Failure to observe these policies will result in disciplinary action and/or termination of membership privileges. Some areas have individually posted rules. Please check these rules before entering the area. Kroc Center personnel have the right to refuse service to anyone deemed disruptive or abusive.
Photo ID Policy
• Any teen or adult (12+) purchasing a membership, day pass or enrolling in a Kroc Community Center program will be required to show photo ID. Infinite Campus will be accepted for those who do not have a photo id.
Registered Sex Offender Policy
• Applicants for membership, day pass users, program participants and anyone over the age of 18 entering The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center may be screened through public sex offender registries.
• Actual knowledge of registered sex offender status may only be obtained through Salvation Army screening of these public registries, or through private disclosure made through the membership, day pass or program application.
• Regardless of the source, when The Salvation Army has actual knowledge of registered sex offender status of anyone who enters/or has entered the individual will be removed from the Kroc Community Center and denied future access.
Family Membership Definition
All members on a Family Membership must reside in the same household AND be a legal dependent of the primary member or second adult.
One-time Annual Payment
• Membership fees can be paid monthly via recurring credit or debit card charge or electronic funds transfer (bank account debit). Prorated fees will be due at time of enrollment and may vary depending upon enrollment date. To complete electronic funds transfer process, a valid credit or debit card must be provided be provided at time of purchase with completed membership form. Membership fees for the current month will automatically be deducted from member bank account on the 1st of the current month. Any requested changes need to be submitted by the last day of the current month in order to be processed for the following month.
• Annual payments may be paid in full by cash, check, major credit/debit card. Fees are equivalent to 12 monthly payments. The annual fee and required registration fee are due at time of enrollment.
Cash Payment Policy
• Monthly cash payments are not permitted unless approved by the Membership Services Supervisor. Cash payments for monthly membership dues are subject to a $10/month processing fee.
Membership Change Policy
• Changes to a membership must be submitted in writing using a “Membership Change Form” at any time. Changes to payment information must be submitted by the last day of the current month in order to be processed for the following month.
• Membership fees are nonrefundable. In order to cancel a membership, members must submit a “Membership Cancellation Request Form” by the last day of the current month for it to become effective in the following month. If a member cancels or if membership payments lapse (members have until the 8th of the month to update payment), the appropriate registration fee will be charged to reopen the membership account. There is no fee charged for cancellation.
Inclement Weather Policy
The Green Bay Kroc Center will always put the safety of its members, program participants and staff first when decisions need to be made concerning inclement weather. When inclement weather poses a threat, the Kroc Center may adjust or cancel scheduled hours of operation, programs and/or special events.
Cancellation of classes and/or programs will not be based upon local school cancellations. We will make an independent decision based on our assessment of the weather. If we decide to cancel, we will notify by posting it on our Facebook page and website home page. No refunds are given unless the program is canceled by The Kroc Community Center. If the Kroc Community Center chooses to cancel a program or class due to weather you will be given a prorated Kroc Community Center credit. No credits or pro-rated credits will be issued for missed days of camp, programs or class due to illness, partial attendance, behavior issues, or any other reason.
If the Kroc Center is closed, has a delayed opening or will be closing early, announcements will be made on our website, social media sites and with the local media.
Day Pass Policy
• Day Passes are available for purchase for the public to access open areas of the Kroc Community Center. Day Pass users can leave the facility and return the same day the pass was purchased for no additional fee.
• Additional activities such as drop-in classes, roster classes, events, etc may be subject to additional fees. Day Pass users pay public rates for all roster activities.
• The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to remove from the facility any Day Pass user who fails to comply with any posted rules and regulations or otherwise breaches the terms of the Day Pass agreement, in which case Day Pass user will not be entitled to a refund of dues.
• Day Pass users are required to sign our Day Pass Purchase Agreement. Minors must be signed for by their parent or legal guardian. More information can be found on our Day Passes page. You can sign the waiver here.
Group/Personal Coach Policy
• Public drop-in access is intended for inclusive recreational use. Any external personal or group use/training/coaching should contact the rental department of specific group requests.
Personal Group/Individual Coaching &
Program Cancellation Policy
• Cancellation of a one-on-one session or any personal or group coaching session requires 24 hours notice. Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of any monies paid.
• Lockers are available at no charge. Guests are responsible for supplying their own lock and clearing locker after each use. The Salvation Army is not liable for lost or stolen property. Locks are available for purchase for $5 at the Membership Services Desk.
Financial Assistance/Scholarship Program
• Individuals, families, and seniors who cannot afford Kroc Center membership or fees for programs (excluding personal training and private lessons) can apply for a discount. Eligibility for this program is based on income level. Scholarship applications are available online or at the Membership Services Desk.
• Gift Cards are available for purchase at the front desk and can be used by recipient to pay for memberships, classes and program fees, facility rentals and merchandise only.
Class and Program Cancellations
• Full payment is required at the time of enrollment. No refunds are given unless the program is canceled by The Kroc Community Center. If the program is canceled by the Kroc Community Center, you will be given a prorated Kroc Community Center credit. Act of God Class and Program Cancellation Clause:
• No refunds or credits will be issued for the first program or class cancellation if caused by weather or an act of God. If a class or program is canceled due to weather or act of God more than once in an 8-week session, a prorated refund will be issued in the form a Kroc credit or gift card for each additional cancellation. The Kroc Community Center will issue notification via phone call, text message, social media update, email or website update. If there is a local weather emergency or act of God, please check these correspondences for updates.
Member/Participant Grievance Policy
• Members or participants in Kroc Center programs and services who wish to file a complaint with our organization should begin by placing a suggestion in one of the suggestion boxes located throughout the building. The comment cards are reviewed by Kroc leadership on a weekly basis and if contact information is provided, a response will be communicated within two weeks. If the provided response is unsatisfactory, members or guests may file an official grievance in writing within 30 days of the incident. Grievance forms are available at the Membership Services Desk. Written grievances or complaints must be sent to the attention of the Director of Operations at the address below:

The following are strictly prohibited on the Kroc Center campus:
• Possessing a firearm or other type of weapon
• Being under the influence of, or in possession of alcohol, drugs or other controlled substances
• Bringing pets inside the facility (with the exception of handicap assistance dogs) or animals outside the facility that are not on a leash 8’ or shorter in length (Grand Rapids city ordinance)
• Use of open flame
• Solicitation of funds (unless approved by the Kroc Center)
• Using or storing bicycles, skates and skateboards inside the Kroc Center
• Taking pictures or video of guests without permission
• Use of amplified music without permission from the Kroc Center
• Use of the facility by outside agencies for monetary gain without paying a rental fee
• Conducting programs or services without prior approval that are similar or in conflict with services, programs or events sponsored by the Kroc Center, including personal training and private swim lessons
The Salvation Army is dedicated to keeping children and vulnerable adults safe from physical, emotional and sexual harm. We refer to our safety efforts as “Protecting The Mission.”
Protecting The Mission guidelines ensure The Kroc Community Center emphasizes safety in the following ways:
• Salvation Army personnel (officers, employees and volunteers) are trained in child abuse prevention and are mandated reporters of suspected child/vulnerable adult abuse.
• Salvation Army personnel undergo criminal background checks.
• Salvation Army personnel undergo training in Blood-borne Pathogen, CPR-AED and First-Aid.
• Adults accessing the facility are screened against public sexual offender registry.
• The Kroc Center maintains video surveillance of the facility 24 hours a day.
• Instructors are trained in appropriate interactions with Kroc members to enhance learning by creating a safe and inviting environment.
• Programs involving children are closely monitored to ensure adequate supervision and safe interactions between Kroc personnel and children.
• In order to promote a safe and secure environment, The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center has placed video cameras in various locations. As part of our commitment to the safety of children and vulnerable persons, The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center reserves the right to consult public sources to determine whether any member or guest poses an unreasonable risk of harm to its patrons, staff, or visitors.
• The Kroc Center constantly adapts and enhances safety protocols to adjust to needs.
Members and guests are encouraged to report suspicious behavior.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to remove from the facility and terminate the membership of any member who fails to comply with any posted rules and regulation or otherwise breaches the Code of Conduct, in which case member will not be entitled to a refund of dues.
Code of Conduct

Center personnel have the right to refuse service to anyone deemed disruptive or abusive.
• A parent/guardianChildren under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while checked into appropriate program or area.
• Refrain from the use of foul language, abusive actions and inappropriate behavior.
• No one under the age of 16 is allowed in the Fitness Area unless participating in a Kroc Center program or class. Members 12-13 may use the Fitness Center (aside from the Free-Weight Area) once they have passed the appropriate Teen Strength Training course for their age. Members 14+ may use all areas of the Fitness Center once they have passed the appropriate Teen Strength Training course for their age.
Shirt and shoes must be worn in all areas outside of pool. No swimwear or wet clothing is allowed outside of aquatic areas. Proper workout attire is required in fitness area (no street shoes or jeans.) Any clothing, including logos or messages on apparel, must be acceptable in a family setting.
• Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters or pets (excluding service animals) will not be allowed inside the facility.
• Alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed anywhere on the premises.
• Smoking and/or use of any type of smokeless tobacco are prohibited in the facility or on facility grounds.
• Weapons of any kind are not permitted on the premises.
• The Kroc Community Center reserves the right to terminate any membership at any time.
RJ’s Child Watch Area
The Kroc Center provides a safe environment for your child while you participate in any activity in the facility. In order to keep our guests safe, we ask that you follow these rules when utilizing the RJ’s Child Watch Areas.
Staff Training and Preparation Information
TSA/Kroc Center RJ’s Child Watch Staff have are trained in the following in preparation of working with children:
• Pass The Salvation Army (TSA) Background Verification Check.
• Complete a TSA application and rigorous interview process by Kroc Center management.
• Attend and certify in the TSA Child Watch Safe from Harm education program.
• Have current infant, child & adult CPR and First Aid Training.
We encourage all parents to take a few minutes to introduce themselves and their children to the staff. Please inform staff of any additional needs your children may have.
Child Watch Expectations and Procedures
Kroc Center employees and volunteers will supervise the children in the RJ’s Child Watch center. If no children are present, the center may close up to 30 minutes early with permission of the Manager on Duty. Rates and hours are subject to change with at least a 14 day notice. Any exceptions to our policies require written authorization from a management representative. Any violation of guidelines could result in the termination of privileges. It is our expectation and desire to facilitate a safe and enjoyable experience for parents and children and thus we require:
- RJ’s Child Watch staff must be on duty prior to children being dropped off.
- Prior to first use, the RJ’s Child Watch Center Registration Form must be completed and signed.
- All space is on a first come, first serve basis (based on available child to staff ratio availability and room capacity)
- There is a limit for the number of children per staff member in the RJ’s Child Watch area – which may require us to consider the RJ’s Child Watch area full, even though it may appear we can handle more children. This is for the child’s safety. If the child area is full please check back in 15 minutes to see if there is an opening.
- All children participating in the RJ’s Child Watch area must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian.
- RJ’s Child Watch is available (during posted hours) while the parent/guardian is using the facility or participating in programming. Parents/guardians must remain in the facility.
- Snack-free zone due to allergy concerns. RJ’s Child Watch will not provide snacks and snacks from home will not be permitted.
- Drinks are allowed in labeled spill-proof containers provided by the parents.
- Parents are expected to diaper their children or take them to the bathroom before dropping off.
- In the event a diaper change is needed, a consent form must be signed and changing supplies (including diapers and wipes) should be provided from home. There is a $1.00 charge for each use if Kroc supplies are used.
- If the child is not adjusting to the RJ’s Child Watch space within 15 minutes the parent will be notified by cell phone or over the intercom and required to assist in soothing their child.
- The same parent/guardian who dropped the child off must pick the child up, or be reflected as a guardian in the members’ account.
- Parents should clearly label all belongings with their first and last name; we cannot be responsible for items left behind.
- Due to safety concerns, toys, money, or large blankets from home are not allowed. Electronic games will be allowed, but we are not responsible for lost, stolen, or broken items.
- Children who harm others (including, but not limited to biting, scratching, hitting, spitting, etc) may be asked to leave for the day. Children involved in more than three incidents may be suspended or not be allowed to use RJ’s Child Watch; the length of time will be determined by the Kroc Center Management team. If the child is prone to aggressive behavior, please notify staff. Each consistent discipline problem will be addressed on an individual basis.
- Children who exhibit the symptoms of sickness will not be allowed into RJ’s Child Watch and will be removed if symptoms appear. Symptoms may include: fever of 100 degrees in the last 24 hours, vomiting within the last 24 hours, diarrhea, green nasal discharge, eye discharge or pink eye, or head lice.
- If child appears sick child needs to come with a doctor’s note authorizing that the condition is non-contagious (allergies, etc).
- If medication has been prescribed a full 24 hours of treatment must be complete before returning to child watch.
- Please notify Child Watch staff as soon as possible if your child contracts any communicable disease and when it appeared. Suspected exposure to any communicable disease in RJ’s Child Watch will be posted notifying parents of disease and dates of exposure.
Checking In & Out
Please have your child use the restroom before coming into child watch. Do not leave your child with a dirty diaper. You can check your child’s diaper and do a quick change if necessary. If your child is nursing, please nurse before leaving your child. If your child needs special accommodation, please call 920.544.4955 at least seven days prior to your visit.
- Members and non-members bring their member card or driver’s license when checking in a child to RJ’s Child Watch. In order for us to release a child to an adult, staff may ask the adult to present a photo ID if ID tags are not presented.
- Staff will issue ID tags/badges to your child. This ensures safety for the children during an emergency evacuation.
- You must sign your child in and out, and document the time each time you use the Child Watch Center.
